Parenting is hard in Dallas. We worry about our kids getting involved with drugs, bad influences, making friends, and remaining healthy.
What we worry most about, however, is them getting a good education that prepares them for adulthood. DISD prepares less than 15% of students for college, which is troubling. I want all students to be prepared for a variety of careers that will support them and our economy.
I want the days of parent worry about the quality of the education in Dallas to end.
In the last 14 years, I have seen failing air conditioners and heaters, mold, teachers tutoring after hours, lack of classroom supplies, ceiling leaks, unsafe entry to our schools, and more. I have attended too many PTA meetings to count, and helped my kids’ schools with fundraisers, plays, family fun nights, and feeding teachers on parent-teacher conference nights, and more.
My experience as a parent would bring to the DISD Board of Trustees valuable knowledge unmatched by my opponent. You can’t know what you don’t know. I will represent all families who are working hard to get their kids educated.
I want the days of parent worry about the quality of the education in Dallas to end.
I ask for your support on May 7 election day, and help spreading the word to voters about my candidacy. Vote Audrey Pinkerton for DISD Trustee!
